Autumn Leaves

Just a short post today to showcase the Autumn themed cards I recently made.  Supplies used are the square Leaf Frame stamp from Woodware - coloured with alcohol inks, mini leaf dies from X-Cut, patterned papers from Echo Park and stamped bark pattern (bottom right) from Lawn Fawn using Memento ink in Rich Cocoa on beige card.

I've been working on some art for my hallway - both freestanding and wall art, which is currently a work in progress - photos to follow in the next few days!

Floral Frenzy!

The dark days of January are moving on and it's great to get stuck into a project or two that involve lots of colour and gorgeousness! This weekend I have been focusing on flowers as I love colouring in these lovely designs with my promarkers.

First up are these clean and simple Woodware stamped flower panel cards which feature a simple embossed border and accent.

Next up I had a lot of fun with a stamp set that was given away with a popular papercraft magazine.  The roses are in the style of Mackintosh and although the stamps aren't the best quality,  I think they worked out okay.

My final project of the day was to use the Striped Flowers stamps from Altenew. For these I decided to take a different approach by inking circles on the front of the card using Distress Inks through a stencil. I then stamped the flowers randomly using Memento Ink in Tuxedo Black. I added a large stamped greeting banner to finish.

I hope you enjoyed seeing todays creations. Other news is that the Bizzyboocrafts website (www.bizzyboocrafts.co.uk) has been updated with the latest fair dates and will soon have full payment functionality for orders. Watch this space and our Facebook page for details!

Thoughts of Summer

More snow today so thought I'd cheer things up with some dainty floral cards in dreamy summer colours. These were stamped using memento inks and Cardio Majestic stamps.  I had great fun adding borders and accents to the main designs - once you start with these stamps the possibilities are endless!

As a complete contrast I also started working on cards featuring leaves in autumnal colours - these are always popular as mens cards - I'll feature these on a future blog post.

Finally we at Bizzyboo Towers (!) have started booking fair dates for 2018 and will be updating the website with our confirmed dates in the next few days. New kits, interactive cards and unique gifts are planned for this year - watch this space for sneak peeks of all the new items.

Bye for now!

Home Sweet Home!

Here in the North East of England we have had a fair amount of snow so what better to do than stay warm indoors and continue making cards.

I found these stamped houses which had been coloured in by my better half (!) and thought they would make excellent 'new home' cards.  Items used: Woodware stamp - Tall House and alcohol inks. I added a die cut house key and Hunkydory sentiment 'keyfob' as an extra embellishment.

Hope you like them!

Bee Happy!

I finally got into the craftroom today and made a start on the many cards I have planned for 2018.  I have been waiting for a chance to play with these Bee stamps from Hobby Art for quite some time and with Christmas out of the way it's nice to start thinking about nature and florals.

The two cards I made also use papers from Dovecraft, appropriately titled "Bee Happy" and their foiled frames from the same range.  The stamped images were coloured in using  my favourite ProMarkers Alcohol Pens. The honeycomb die is from Paper Smooches.

All in all I was pleased with my first two cards of the year!

Found Objects!

Having already booked our first fairs for the year, I decided to clean up the craftroom after the craziness of Christmas crafting  in readiness for the work ahead in 2018. The problem with this is I usually (and quite easily!) get distracted by the things I find that I forgot I had! This makes the job last that much longer than it should!  I find renewed interest in WIP (works in progress) and UFOs (unfinished objects) and start imagining them completed!

Among the many back, front and one (!) sleeved sweaters I discovered, I also found a stack of MDF blanks buried away in a cupboard, just waiting to be turned into my colourful owls - can't wait - now where did I put that patterned paper?

Thanks for reading!

Take care!

Happy New Year 2018

Welcome to my first blog ever and the first one of 2018.

I was lucky enough to spend New Year in London and see the spectacular fireworks display. This means of course that I was not actually doing any crafting at all, but my creative mind was taking in all sorts of ideas from the things around me. London is so vibrant, busy and colourful and I saw inspiration almost every day. From colourful markets and souvenir shops, to our trips to Sealife Centre and the Science Museum. Over the coming months I will share my creative makes with you, and showcase the ideas that popped in to my head! I hope you will join me!
